Frequently asked questions

What does a new heater cost?

The price depends on the size, the materials and whether a foundation is already there. I give an exact price after visiting. The quote is free.

How long does building a heater take?

An ordinary heater is finished in one to two weeks. Drying time is added to that. I show you how to do the first firings.

How often must a chimney be swept?

Every year. In a single-family home you may sweep it yourself, but at least once every five years it must be done by a certified chimney sweep.

In terraced and apartment buildings a certified chimney sweep must come every year.

What is a stove passport?

A document the mason draws up for a finished heating appliance: what was built, from which materials and how to fire it. I issue one for every job. It is asked for at inspections and in insurance claims.

Do I need a permit for a heater or chimney?

A building notice may be required. It depends on the work and on the municipality. I tell you up front whether you need one, and I help with the paperwork.

How far do you travel?

Home is in Viljandi County. I work regularly in Tallinn and Harju County too, and for larger jobs I travel across Estonia.
